Paul Merrett is chef director at Jolly Fine and splits his time between The Fox & Grapes in Wimbledon Village and The Victoria in East Sheen. He has a deserved reputation for Modern British food with an Asian twist. In his fine-dining days Paul’s cooking was twice awarded a Michelin star before he found his culinary home in London’s gastropub scene. He launched The Farm in Fulham before buying The Victoria in East Sheen in 2008. Hard work and dedication saw The Victoria named London gastropub of the year 2013. Paul trains and develops all chefs in the group. He’s also a successful author of three cookbooks and often appears on TV.

East Sheen

The Victoria is a great gastropub with rooms in Sheen, South West London. Proudly independent since 1888, The Victoria serves locals and passers-by all day.
From breakfast after the school run to must-book brunch at weekends, from the best à la carte dinner around to epic Sunday roasts. You’ll find well-loved modern British favourites at this stylish gastronomic bolthole. But expect innovation too and a carefully-considered wine list, full of character, alongside craft lagers and cask ales. An airy conservatory dining room leads out to a leafy, walled garden. Seven hip hotel rooms carry the pub’s decadent styling to the converted stables out back.
